Itinerary

October 1–5 | Authentic Movement Retreat

Participants will immerse themselves in the practice of Authentic Movement (AM)—a profound method for deepening self-awareness and exploring inner landscapes. Under the compassionate guidance of experienced facilitators, this retreat invites you to explore the connection between body and mind through movement, stillness, and presence. Practitioners will engage in various forms of practice, encouraging self-expression, awareness, and connection. The serene surroundings of Arco, nestled in the Italian mountains, provide the perfect backdrop for this inward journey, where movement becomes a language of truth and healing.

This retreat will deepen the collective aspect of Authentic Movement through the practice of “The Breathing Circle.” It will emphasize the experience of synchronicity within the circle and enhance the ability of external witnesses to observe multiple movers. The practices of moving witness and silent witness are also essential to the Breathing Circle. The development of foundational AM forms—including dyads, triads, the Breathing Circle, and expanded Breathing Circle—will deepen practitioners’ understanding of wholeness. From individual awareness to collective consciousness, participants will express themselves through movement and speech with kindness and care.

In today’s world, we need both individual and collective work. This retreat will help us understand how our movements and words influence one another while strengthening our inner witness. A supportive space for growth and transformation will be provided.

Note: Retreat participants must have prior experience with foundational Authentic Movement forms and be at the level of practicing the Breathing Circle. Applicants who do not meet this requirement must be approved by the academy and mentors, and must attend additional small-group practice sessions (exclusively for confirmed study tour participants).

Small-Group Practice Schedule:

  • First Session:May 18 (Sunday), 3:00–5:00 PM (Instructor: Marcia Plevin)
  • Second Session:June 29 (Sunday), 3:00–5:00 PM (Instructor: Rosa Maria Govoni)

October 6 | International Symposium on Creative Arts Therapy

✨ Cross-Cultural Exchange · Immersive Experience · Collective Exploration ✨

This one-day international symposium will bring together practitioners from China and Italy/Europe for an experiential, interactive deep dive into the diverse forms of creative arts therapy. More than just an exchange of knowledge, this is an awakening of the soul. Through visual arts, dance, music, and drama, participants will explore therapeutic applications and innovative methods in self-expression and healing.

Highlights:
🔹 Experiential Interaction – Engage firsthand with various art therapy modalities and discover how creative expression fosters healing.
🔹 Global Networking – Connect with professionals from different cultural backgrounds, expanding perspectives and sharing best practices.
🔹 Live Streaming Option – Limited to 40 in-person attendees, with potential live streaming to reach a wider audience.

Whether you’re a professional in the field or simply curious about creative healing, this is a rare opportunity for learning and connection. Let’s open new possibilities through the flow of art!

October 7 | Day Trip to Lake Garda

Lake Garda (Lago di Garda), Italy’s largest lake, is nestled in the northern region, bordered by Brescia and Milan to the west and Verona and Venice to the east. A renowned vacation destination, the lake cuts into the edge of the Italian Alps, framed by the Garda and Brenta mountain ranges, shaped by glaciers at the end of the last Ice Age.

In Roman times, the lake was called Benacus, personified as a deity sometimes linked to Neptune. Today, the name Garda—of Germanic origin—dates back to the Middle Ages, derived from the lakeside town of the same name. Along with Gardone RivieraGàrdolaGardoncinoGardoniGuàrdola, and Le Garde, it reflects the presence of Lombards and Germanic tribes between the 6th and 8th centuries. The name “Garda” comes from the Germanic word “warda”, meaning “place of guarding,” “place of observation,” or “place of safety.”

Join us for a day of breathtaking landscapes, history, and relaxation by this legendary lake!

October 8–10 | Transformative Arts Healing Workshop

✨ Ignite Life Through Art: Embrace Transformation in Creation and Connection ✨

In the final three days of our study tour, we will embark on a profound journey of arts healing and transformation. Through multiple artistic modalities, we will open the body and mind, fostering holistic healing and personal growth:

🔹 Movement & Embodiment – Through dance and mindfulness practices, release tension, deepen self-awareness, and restore harmony between body and emotions.
🔹 Integrative Arts Exploration – Immerse in painting, music, dance, and poetry as creative mediums for free expression and deep connection within a safe, open space.
🔹 Closing Ceremony & Celebration of Life – Mark the end of our journey with a ritual of integration, honoring the insights gained and the warm community we’ve co-created together.

This workshop is designed to be a sacred container for transformation, where art becomes the bridge between inner discovery and outward expression. Whether you’re new to creative healing or an experienced practitioner, this is an invitation to play, explore, and witness the magic that unfolds when we create with intention.

✨ Let art illuminate your path as we step into renewal together. ✨
